Bleeding Precautions

  • Use a soft-bristled toothbrush and be gentle with your gums.
  • Avoid flossing
  • Use electric Shaver
  • Avoid using aspirin or blood-thinners
  • Apply gentle pressure to any cuts or wounds x 10 minutes and elevate the affected area above the heart.
  • Avoid vigorous physical activity or contact sports that can lead to injury or bleeding.
  • Wear protective gear if you must engage in potentially hazardous activities.
  • Avoid alcohol, tobacco, and other substances that can increase the risk of bleeding.
  • Use caution when handling sharp objects or tools.
  • Watch for signs of bleeding, including bruising, bleeding gums, or nosebleeds

Neutropenic Precautions

  • Good hygiene
  • No sick visitors
  • No raw or undercooked foods, especially meats, seafood, and eggs.
  • Clean and disinfect surfaces and objects frequently, including phones, computers, and doorknobs
  • Wear protective clothing, such as gloves and masks, when appropriate.
  • No fresh plants
  • Notify your healthcare provider of any signs of infection, such as fever, chills, sore throat, or cough.
