Conjunctivitis, also known as “pink eye,” is an inflammation of the clear lining on the surface of the eye and inside of the eyelids. It can be caused by bacterial or viral infections, allergies, or irritants such as smoke or pollution.
Symptoms
Redness in the whites of the eyes, itching, tearing, discharge and swelling of the eyelids.

Avoid touching or rubbing eyes
Stay home from work or school until the infection has cleared up.
