Administer antipyretics
HOB 15-30 degrees
Turn every 2 hours to prevent pressure ulcers
Assist with deep breathing and coughing exercises every 2 hours

Dim the lights in the patient’s room and provide sunglasses.
Apply a sterile dressing to the wound to prevent infection
Assess and maintain the patient’s airway.
Monitor serum drug level
Provide a quiet environment to prevent sensory overload.
Provide a quiet and calm environment.
Monitor the client’s fluid and electrolyte balance.
Provide a soft and pureed diet.
Encourage range of motion exercises on the affected side.
Maintain airway and protect the child from injury.
Administering antibiotics
Maintaining adequate cerebral perfusion by monitoring signs of decreased neurological status and ensuring a dequate oxygenation
Monitor for symptoms of increased intracranial pressure, administer steroids, and anti-epileptic medications as prescribed.
