Uneven shoulders, hips or waistline

What is it?

  • The spinal curve may be shaped like an “S” or a “C” and can cause uneven shoulders and hips, as well as a protruding rib cage and one shoulder blade sticking out more than the other.
  • Scoliosis may occur at any age, but it is most commonly diagnosed in children and adolescents between the ages of 10-15 years old. If left untreated, it can lead to chronic pain, respiratory problems, and even disability.

 

Symptoms

  • Uneven shoulders, hips, or waistline
  • One shoulder blade that appears more prominent than the other
  • A hump or bump in the back, appearing as a result of the vertebrae twisting, and back pain. 
  • Sometimes it may be difficult to detect.
Abnormal Curvature
Treatment: Bracing, surgery, physical therapy & exercise. If mild, observation
