Strawberry Hemangioma
- A birthmark in the form of tiny vessels under the skin
- Depending on location, it is benign
- Superficial hemangiomas will reach final size by 5 months of age.
- Deeper hemangiomas will continue to grow until 6-18 months and slowly improve.
Treatment
- Propanolol- a beta blocker that can make vessels narrower to decrease the size of the hemangiomas
- Steroid injections directly into the hemangioma to slow growth
- Surgerical removal
- Laser treatments
