A birthmark in the form of tiny vessels under the skin
Depending on location, it is benign
Superficial hemangiomas will reach final size by 5 months of age.
Deeper hemangiomas will continue to grow until 6-18 months and slowly improve.
Treatment
Propanolol- a beta blocker that can make vessels narrower to decrease the size of the hemangiomas
Steroid injections directly into the hemangioma to slow growth
Surgerical removal
Laser treatments
